Early Science Academy
Welcome! We are pleased to announce the Early Science Academy Project.
The goal of the Early Science Academy is to generate interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields among young students through the use of mentoring, hands-on activities, and project-based learning that encourages creativity and critical thinking.
This project is the result of an effort by a group of people with a common passion - to get young students excited about STEM and provide a means for them to explore the opportunities that these fields have to offer.
We will be kicking off this project with a 10-week program that will introduce students to computer science concepts and the basics of programming through the use of robots.
Ever wondered how computers think? Want to know how to program a computer? Curious to know how to make a robot move?
Join the fun, be part of the first program of the Early Science Academy and learn some cool stuff along the way!
The academy programming and robotics course will begin on Saturday, October 1, 2013 and will run through Saturday, November 16, 2013.
